Camden State Park is a little South of Marshall, MN. It's located in the state's Southwest and is considered prairie land.
We didn't have to drive to a parking area for our first hike because just behind our campsite is a trail with the trailhead thirty yards to the left.
On the evening of September 9th, after we set up our campsite, we traveled up a hill through the prairie, then turned into a wooded area and down a valley toward the Redwood River. Here, we picked up the park's Jones Mill Trail, which passes the site where once was the Jones Mill.
The Redwood River is a trout stream, and the ranger said that even though it was running really low, you might find them in deep pools. Here, Gypsy is refreshing herself with what must have been some cold water.
This is a Geocaching box. I used to do some tromping around in the woods and countryside looking for these boxes with my son Aaron.
A pretty picture of the Redwood River as we traveled the Jones Mill Trail.
